It is with deep regret we have learned this evening that the death has occurred of Mr Paddy Lawless today (Revloch). It´s been a few years since Paddy and Sally shared the ring and sidelines with the Cocker Community but their legacy is with us as much today as it ever was in the show community. Beyond the Cocker Spaniel rings, the family graced the Belgian Shepherd, Schipperke and Rottweiler rings with the passon of true dog people. As with many of their generation involved with the canine world, they passed their knowledge and craft of their breeds as well as their love of the canine world to their children who today continue to keep proud the Lawless legacy. The Club and all of us who remember Paddy, wish to pass on our condolences and promise their legacy here in our litte community is in the hands of those who will ensure they won't be forgotten. it´s about time please, the Community considered packing cameras along with their show gear. I acknowledge that at least two other members of the Community asked Des to take pictures, however,.. We are all big enough and long in the tooth enough to realise, it could be any one of us in the ring next time and be very grateful for the pic from a fellow Community member on the sideline. Given the recorded history on this site, it could be you after all on the sidelines the week after! Relying on the kindness of others won't always get the picture. Get our act together people please. Seán Baldwin, - J&M's son will shortly represent Ireland in the 2012 Olympics in four of the shooting disciplines, held, 30th Aug. - 6th Sept. It goes without saying that anybody that has been near them at any show for years, knows just how proud they are of him. We wish him, - his father's poise and calm, his mother's passion and that gentle waft of good fortune along with the dedication to his discipline he observes to achieve a well earned "Result". CSCOI & DCSS 4 Spaniel Breed Seminar 28-April-2012 Not having attended one of these things before, they day was very well spent. I was not surprised to see many familiar faces of non Breed,
but experienced show types expanding their remit and intent on learning from some of the absolute best Breed people this Island has to offer. For the novice like myself, a firm basis was established by our own Kay Creamer and I found I learnt as much again about the ECS as the other Spaniel speakers
spoke and elaborated on their Breed differences. The Breed Standard for the novice lists the clinical "this and that" but not only do we have to understand the theory, we need also to view the Breed in "Action"
in the ring, but it's a bloody good idea to further expand your learning of your Breed by watching the differences exhibited by the other Spaniel types to cement those
differences that make the Cocker what it is. To the team that made this day to happen, and to the lady that made it all happen - Clodagh Fallon, with her Mum, Brother and Aunt as support team on the day, the
learned Speakers and all who attended and supported the Seminar, our (on behalf of both Clubs) most sincere thanks. It was a pleasure to attend with such a like minded

and sundry that inhabit our special part of the world, we agree she should be ranked as a living National Treasure. Speaking personally as webmaster and Club archivist, Kay has been instrumental in supporting the development of this website,
and when joining in the 1960's she had the foresight to preserve many artefacts from this era. As the founding members of the Club
were lost to history, Kay exhibited the wisdom to record to memory the insights and events she shared with them for us all today. There is of course a legacy beyond the Cretoka Affix, as Children and Grandchildren are active and respected members of the Irish Canine community. We did too, but our meagre excuse was the purchase of good coffee and tonights dinner. As we exited with our stash, we shared a few moments with Brenda, Magic and Brian. Their dedication to their work is to be admired. Please make an effort to show them your support.
